Lipsky & DeVoest display their names

As I was watching a match with LG&T doubles finalists Rik DeVoest of South Africa and Scott Lipsky of the USA recently, it occurred to me that these guys were doing something unique for non-World Team Tennis play: their names have been displayed on the backs of their shirts in their matches all week. Be sure to take notice of this at 12:00 PM tomorrow during our doubles final.
Whenever I have been asked, it has been my pleasure to identify both singles and doubles players this week for our loyal fans here at the LG&T. It only makes sense that people want to know who these players are and where they are from. I know they are team sports, but imagine commenting on a basketball or football game with no names or numbers attached to uniforms.
I propose that the ATP mandate the displaying of names on the backs of all shirts at the Challenger level on up to the main tour. Yes, the USTA or ATP will need to provide these letters to players who do not place them on their shirts themselves. I can hear the complaining already: "But what about my contract with Nike?" Being a tennis clothing nut, even I would be willing to iron on a few letters to my Lacoste shirts if it meant the crowd might get to know me a little better!
